But Will This REALLY Help Me?

The question always comes when someone brings up another "thing" for a chronic condition. We already do so much each day. We already invest more effort into just keeping our pain and other symptoms at a low enough level to get through each day than anyone else we know. We already have tried and discarded a multitude of other promising options. We already are tired of doing all the things all the time. So the question of whether or not a new thing actually will help us, right where we are is often the most important one. We understand the need to band-aid symptoms, because otherwise we couldn't keep putting one foot in front of the other, but often all we're doing is patching ourselves up so we can limp along, rather than making real change for healing.
This is at the crux of why, after trying many, many other options, I've landed at Block Therapy. What are the key benefits I've found as I've practiced Block Therapy the last few years and am now a certified instructor?
It is under my control. This matters to me maybe more than all the rest. Block Therapy not only happens in my own home, on my own schedule, at my own speed. I control the length of sessions, the amount of pressure used, the exact placement and modification of every single position. There are no more "surprise" shocking pains, no more trying to explain why just a little pressure is far too much, no more stress from trying to make it to an appointment at a certain time or on a day when your body is telling you to rest. No more repeated visits that take a lot out of me and my bank account.
It addresses acute symptoms. If I have an ache or pain I can use Block Therapy to address it. This ranges from headaches to subluxations to a stiff neck and more. I've used Block Therapy to fall asleep easier, to stop a migraine, and to put my hip back in its socket. I've used it to clear sinuses, heal torn ligaments in a knee, and decrease concussion symptoms. This is because every ache and pain is wrapped up in the fascia, which wraps every part of our body.
It addresses root causes and deeper health concerns. As we work through the layers of the fascia, we heal more complex concerns. Block Therapy reshapes and heals the fascia. It opens up channels of circulation and lymph flow. It realigns your body at the structural and cellular level to effect real change. My pain has decreased by about 95%. I've gone from being afraid of that first step out of bed in the morning to not even thinking about whether or not I'll be still and there will be pain. I no longer have migraines, no longer have lipedema tissue that is cold to the touch, and rarely have those pesky subluxations that I used to have several times per day. My lipedema tissues no longer feel like rock and my mobility and agility have improved.
It allows mental renewal and calming of the nervous system. Often we are braced in a fight or flight mode, causing our nervious system and immune system to be on high alert. As we learn and utilize deep diaphragmatic breath with each Block Therapy position, we settle our vagus nerve and allow the mind to rest. This shift tells our brains that we are safe and allows the body to make changes at a deeper level while increasing oxygen to our cells so they respond and heal. It is a gentle method - a nudging rather than a forcing. The meditative component being still and proper breathing creates with Block Therapy is crucial to those with painful, chronic conditions.
Block Therapy is not a substitute for needed medical care (and I am not the judge of whether or not you need additional medical care!), but it can be an incredibly important, life-changing tool for addressing your unique body and making changes that impact your health and daily life. It works with whatever other complementary modalities you want to employ and often clients find they can continue some of the activities they love because they learn how to take care of their bodies better with this practice. Block Therapy gives you insights into how and why your body works the way it does and is empowering as you learn to trust what your body is telling you and how to affect changes that give you less pain, decreased symptoms, increased hope, and a better quality of life.
