Lipedema & Pain: From Bed to Better

Updated: 4 days ago

Living with chronic pain and a condition like lipedema can make life feel like an impossible battle. I know, because this has been my story. For years, I didn't know what each day would bring, often spending about 22 hours a day in bed just trying to cope. I had given up almost all of what life once was, exhausted by a relentless cycle of trying to find healthcare professionals who actually care, late-night internet searches, and the discouraging feeling of not being believed.

When you live with chronic conditions that alter everything—forcing you to change how you eat, struggle with basic mobility, and deal with constant pain even while sleeping—you start looking for answers anywhere you can. We’ve all been there: doing endless research, trying everything we can access, and managing the weight of isolation. It feels like you're wasting all of your hours because you can't participate in them.

Life became a series of letting go. I let go of sitting on the floor with my kids, doing daily household chores, grocery shopping, taking a walk at sunset, and sharing tight hugs. I couldn't hold hands with my husband on car rides because the pain was simply too much. Much needed naps took the place of fun afternoons. Self-care routines replaced outings that make life enjoyable.

And then slowly, things began to change.

The answers came in whispers, and they weren’t where I expected. Healing didn't happen overnight, but by focusing on fascia decompression, calming the nervous system, rediscovering proper breath, spending time in nature, finding intentional joy, choosing whole and nutrient-dense foods, and restoring my faith, things shifted. Little by little, day by day, my body is changing, healing.

I got my life back, and so can you. I’m here to help.
